St Bartholomew’s United Church will enjoy a very special evening. We have a Taizé service. A peaceful, reflective and prayerful worship to help bring us closer to God as a community and Church family. Our loving conversation with God will cleanse our minds and focus on the things that are most important to us to help us energise in the warmth of God’s grace at this cold, dark time of the year.

We will be serving warm drinks and cake after the service to help us find our way home.

Taizé is an ecumenical Christian community in France, known for its peaceful and contemplative atmosphere. Founded in 1940, it welcomes thousands of visitors for prayer, meditation, and communal singing. The community emphasizes simplicity, reconciliation, and fostering unity among Christians, making it a significant pilgrimage site for spiritual seekers worldwide.

During the service, at any time you feel is the right time, you are invited to light a tealight candle at the altar as a symbol of your love and dedication to Christ. A number of the service team will guide you through the service, the main congregational activities are to take part in the communal chants listed below, to pray and to open your heart to God.
