Plaster Disaster!

Last summer, some plaster fell from the wall in the social area at the back of church. The area was roped off and a contractor was called in. They discovered more areas that are in danger of coming loose, so they and our Architect, Simon Bird, recommended that the church be closed temporarily. Further investigation narrowed down the problem areas and the church was re-opened in January, with the south aisle out of bounds. WE are glad that all our regular activities have resumed and the PCC is on the case as regards rectification work, though with ours being a Grade II* listed building, it is inevitably taking time, effort and expense to get it right. Thankfully, we have expert advice from our architect and contractors, and are hopeful that we will get permission to rectify the damage in the near future.
