About Us
Welcome to the Church of Saint Andrew the Apostle.
Saint Andrew's is a stunning Victorian Church building which was built in the 1860s. Our tiny parish only has about 12 roads and is one of the smallest parishes in the Diocese of Chichester. Nevertheless, we are a parish community with a big heart, and we welcome everyone to our beautiful church.
The style of our worship is unashamedly in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England. We use incense, colour and candles to enhance our worship of Almighty God. And yet, even with all these added extras, we hope you that you will find that the worship is also relaxed and friendly.
The Mass (also known as the Eucharist or the Holy Communion) is central to our life at St. Andrew's. This service was given to us by Jesus himself when he asked his followers to "Do this in remembrance of me." And so, in obedience to His command, we do this every Sunday, and twice in the week too. Through our participation in the Mass, we find that we are strengthened to become the "Body of Christ" in our own community and in the world today.
Please feel free to join us. We are at your service 7 days a week, and you will be most welcome.
