You are probably aware that Wadhurst Church has recently been given the Silver Eco-Church Award and that we are committed to meeting the Church of England’s stated commitment to be carbon-zero by 2030. We’re asking all of our congregation, and the wider village, to use the WWF online carbon footprint calculator https://footprint.wwf.org.uk/ to find out our personal carbon score and to email the results confidentially to wadhurstnetzero@gmail.com so we can get an idea of our Wadhurst average. For anyone not online, paper copies will also be available at the back of Wadhurst Church or at Carillon Cottage.
Many thanks to all our volunteers, who helped made the event such fun and especially the men, who came to help tidy up and get the church ready for the church service the next day.We have agreed to hold our next clothes swap on Saturday 12th October.
Everyone needs love, and has the capacity to love.Flowers were given to all the women in our congregation to say thank you, for their mothering role.
1. “If I bring 10 items of clothing, do I have to swap them for 10 items?”
No. If you only see two items you want to take, that is fine.2. “ What will you do with the leftover clothes?” We already have an agreement with Hospice in the Weald Wadhurst charity shop. They will take the excess clothes and either sell them in the shop or take them to one of their other branches.3. “Can I take my children with me to the event?” Yes, of course you can, but they are your responsibility.4. “Will there be any changing rooms?” No5. “Can I drop off clothes earlier in the week?” Unfortunately, we do not have any storage facilities. But you can bring them to the church on Saturday morning at 10:00am.6. “Can I pay on the door, on Clothes Swap day?” Yes you can, but it really helps us predict numbers, if you order your ticket in advance.
