The Friends of St Andrew's Church

PURPOSE

The land on which St Andrew’s Church is built is said to have been a holy site since Saxon times. The earliest evidence of a church building on the site is from the 13th Century. Since then, St Andrew’s Church has been a centre of Christian worship.

The aim of the Friends of St Andrew’s Church is to encourage the people of Chinnor – as well as those who have lived here in the past and have affection for our lovely and historic Church – to help conserve, maintain and improve the fabric, furnishings and fittings of St Andrew’s Church for future generations. The Church building is, after all, available to all within the parish, whether worshippers or not.

Our Church, a Grade I listed building, is part of our historical heritage in Chinnor, and as such must be maintained and preserved.
