We gave out some extra Easter treats to our Pantry users this week. Our volunteers have been setting aside a few things such as coffee, tinned ham, boxes of biscuits, chocolates etc. to share out over Easter. It was a busy session on a bright Spring morning. If you are able to help us restock our cupboards, we are short of tinned meat, tuna, tinned fruit, tinned vegetables and pasta sauce. Thank you for your support. The Pantry Team.
Our Church has now had an Allotment for a wonderful 9 years. During that time we have grown strawberries, vegetables and now flowers and rhubarb. Our blooms and produce have won prizes at Flower Shows including cups and certificates. We have also supplied Weddings, Funerals and Flower Festivals. The plot has been written about in Seasight and Faith in Sussex and has been talked about on BBC Sussex and Surrey radio. We have attempted BBC television but we were not chosen at the time and so we are going to make another approach!During those 9 years the children have always taken part in Allotment activities, from the early youth groups, to J Squad, Rocks and now Bolders. The naturally grown flowers adorn our beautiful Church and weave a gorgeous tapestry amongst the age old arches and windows. Bouquets, posies and rhubarb are cut to order and sold by donation at coffee after the 10am service on a Sunday. The allotment is now self financing and all donations are so gratefully received.
