From earliest times Christians have gathered through the night of Easter to recall the story of God’s saving work, from creation through to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Easter Vigil marks the end of the emptiness of Holy Saturday, and leads into the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.

Welcome to the Parish Church of St John the Evangelist, Preston, Brighton, a lively Anglican church in the suburbs of north Brighton. St John's is a welcoming, friendly, creative and outward-looking church, in a central/catholic tradition and is affiliated to the Inclusive Church network.

The church community is committed to fostering spiritual and numerical growth and to engaging more effectively with our local community.

There's a Eucharist with hymns at St John's every Sunday at 10am followed by refreshments, as well as a mid-week Eucharist on Wednesday mornings at 10am followed by Preston Coffee Pot, a community cafe.

Our parish of Preston: St John w Brighton: St. Augustine & St. Saviour is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO).
