Work on our access project is coming along well. Much work has been achieved but a lot of that work is underground! The waste and water pipes for the new toilet have been laid and are ready to go.The groundwork for the ramp and steps has been done and is waiting for the bespoke handrails, which have been fitted and are off being galvanised. The handmade flint wall has been made and fits beautifully with the church building.Internally the walls for the toilet are up and some damp plaster has been removed and the sunshine is helping the walls to dry well, all the pipework and electrics for the toilet are in and ready to go.The work is on schedule but has not followed the schedule provided before starting. This means the church and car park are likely to be out of action for a bit longer.
it was a pleasure at our APCM to give thanks for the 20 years of dedicated service by Peter Toone to Holy Cross church in the role of Churchwarden. He will be replaced by Nikki Hughes who is planning to step into Peter's footsteps in many ways, but maybe not following his jokes! We were pleased to release Peter into his new role as house chef, and provided him with some meal vouchers alongside the cookery book, just in case Wendy gets hungry. Peter continues to serve the church in many ways and we are grateful for all he and Wendy bring to our community. Please pray for Nikki as she begins to understand what she has taken on and that she will grow in confidence as she serves our community.
The children and young people of Holy Cross worked hard to put together a video telling the story of The Transfiguration and putting the story into the context of the journey to cross. Do have a watch along as you prepare for Easter.https://youtu.be/d44geXTk30Y?si=CQDO22a3slAjWPVA
