St John the Evangelist, Newtimber is one of the four parish churches of the Mid Downland Parish.  The Rector is Revd Tim Harford who lives in the Rectory in Poynings.  There is a service at 10 o’clock every Sunday morning in one of the churches.  The first Sunday each month in Edburton, the second Sunday in Newtimber, the third in Poynings and the fourth in Pyecombe.  When there is a fifth Sunday in the month a service is held in Poynings.
