St Thomas a Becket Church in Cliffe High Street, Lewes, is ancient and peaceful, where you may seek and find your God, and be equally welcome as a visitor: we are open every day from 8.30am until 3pm in winter and 6pm in summer. Guided tours can be booked - see our website.

Our lovely, traditional Anglican church service is distinguished by its adherence to the beauty, poetry, and majesty of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and the 1611 King James Authorised Version of the Bible. Sunday morning Communion service is at 9.45am every week, and includes traditional hymns from the New English Hymnal, and sung responses. After the service we welcome everyone to tea and coffee in the adjacent hall.

The church is open every day to visit and for private prayer and devotion.

We are Corporate Members of the Prayer Book Society.

The parish is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer. The Diocese of Chichester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
