Parish Annual Meetings. These are taking place on Friday 17th May at St Peter & St Paul Church, Parkstone Road The meetings will start at 7.00pm and will be preceded by a Fellowship Meal at 6.00p.m. All those whose names are on the Electoral Roll will receive an invitation to the annual meetings. The first meeting will be for the election of two churchwardens. This meeting is open to all those on the parish Electoral Roll and any who reside in the parish whose names are on Hastings Borough Council's register of electors. The second meeting is the Annual Parochial Church Meeting {APCM} to which all those on the parish Electoral Roll are invited to attend and are eligible to vote. At this meeting we hope to elect two Deputy Church Wardens; three Deanery Synod Representatives and four Representatives to serve on the Parochial Church Council {PCC} - one Parish; two St John's and one St Peter & St Paul. Please give thought and prayer as to nominations for these various posts. Nomination forms are available in both our churches and should ideally be submitted before the meetings. {Please ensure the necessary signatures are on the forms.} Note that proposers and seconders must be on the Parish Electoral Roll. The APCM will also be appointing the Independent Examiner who checks that the Annual Accounts etc, are all in order. The meeting will also consider:- the changes to the parish Electoral Roll since the last APCM; the Annual Report of the proceedings of the parochial church council and the activities of the parish generally; the financial statements of the council for the year ending 31st December 2023 which have been independently examined; the annual report on the fabric, goods and ornaments of the churches of the parish; a report on the proceedings of the deanery synod. The Vicar will also give his remarks on the last year in the parish. After the meeting representative of some of our parish groups/organisations will be on hand to give written reports on their activities and provide further information if required.
