Many of us look forward to entering wholeheartedly into the joy and fun of Christmas celebrations. However, not everyone can feel like celebrating. For some, Christmas can be a painful time. Perhaps as friends and family gather to celebrate, the absence of a loved one is more keenly felt, and feelings of grief and loss can be stirred up.
A Blue Christmas Service (sometimes referred to as a Longest Night Service) is a quieter reflective Christmas Service which includes opportunities for expression of grief, pain, and heartbreak while still holding a focus on the promise of hope found in the birth of Jesus.
