St Augustine's Church will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 10th of May to anyone who would like to visit.

We have heard several times over the last few months “Oh, I had no idea there is a church in Flimwell”! Due to the fact St Augustine’s is not actually in the centre of our village, it is often missed. To address this, we will be open from 10am to 4pm so that anyone and everyone can a chance to come and see what a beautiful church we have. Whilst our church does not have the kudos of age, it does have a glorious interior so please do come along. There will also be a display of images of Flimwell Village over the years.

St Augustine's Flimwell

St Augustine's Flimwell (dedicated to St Augustine of Canterbury) was first consecrated in 1839. It's history can be read on our benefice website at www.ticehurstandflimwell.church/flimwell_church_history.htm   Normal pattern of services - on the second Sunday of the month we have a Morning Worship or Morning Prayer service in contemporary language; the 4th Sunday service is Holy Communion from Common Worship Order One in contemporary language. Both at 9.30am followed by tea/coffee afterwards. The hymns are organ (or recorded organ music) accompanied.  Parking is available in Church Farm next door (to the east) but please avoid parking on any obviously soft ground. The church is kept locked, but visits may be arranged with the churchwarden Mrs Jaye Hughes 01580 879431.
