Always a big and joyous occasion for the village.
Our group grows and grows. We have recently welcomed three new ladies from Etchingham.
The church is next to the OFSTED 'outstanding' primary school. Children drop in to the church on their way to school for a drink, biscuits and a chat. Having left their children at school, parents, carers and toddlers can then come back in for coffee and a snack. Lots of Mums and Dads enjoy this, and the Tuesday Drop-In is often an initial step into the church and has led on to baptisms and participation in the life of the church.
Only during term-time, of course!

Said BCP Holy Communion
The nativity story is acted out as a key part of our family morning Christmas service.
Lots of children (and adults) take part.
When there is a fifth Sunday of the month, Burwash Weald, Burwash and Etchingham combine in one of our three churches for a United Benefice Eucharist service. Please check the magazine and the News tab of this website.
10.00 if at Burwash or 10.30 if at Burwash Weald or 11.00 if at Etchingham.

Traditional Holy Communion from the prayer book
This is a shortened Sung Eucharist suitable for all ages but especially intended to encourage young families and to take their worship further than the Family Service held on the first Sunday of each month.
Occasionally the pattern of services may vary, for example at Easter and Christmas.
Instead of Evensong
Sung Eucharist.
The service on the second Sunday of each month is usually a United Benefice celebration, at one of our three churches in rotation - St Philip's Burwash Common at 10.30; St Nicolas Etchingham at 11.00; St Bartholomew's Burwash 10.00. There could well be exceptions to the rotation, for example on Remembrance Sunday. Please watch the listing in the magazines and on this website.
There may be variations at festival seasons
No service at St Bartholomew's.

Reflection and meditation on the 4th Thursday of the month.
Messy / fun church....
Toddlers through to Year 6. Crafts, games, stories and song. Tea, coffee, juice and cake!
May not occur every month, especially in the school holidays.
A friendly service with singing and laughter, designed to be enjoyed by all ages but especially meant to encourage children.
Occasionally this service is moved to another Sunday, for example Mothering Sunday.
Planning in progress
The renowned Grove Singers, who put on a concert two years ago, will give a Summer Serenade of choral music on the lighter side, conducted by Tim Rhys-Morgan.
Madrigals to modern arrangements of folk songs, and everything else in between.
A glass of wine is included!
This is in aid of our major project to build a toilet and kitchen, along with other improvements.
