About Us
Our beautifully situated and lovely church is well worth a visit.
We are just down the road from Burwash and Bateman's, heading towards Lewes.
Built 150 years ago, St Philip's was a result of the vision of the Trower Sisters who founded the church and later the school and finally a parish with its own clergy.
We are part of the United Benefice of Burwash, Burwash Weald and Etchingham with the Rector, Thomas (the boss) based in Burwash and our own Vicar, Graham, based in Burwash Common.
We are a village church with a wide range of worship and activities.
The church is open every day for those who want some peace - the late afternoon sunlight through the odd red and blue West windows is particularly heavenly.
For those thinking of getting married or having a christening here - congratulations! Please do get in touch with us for more information.
You may want to note that we are opposite the Pavilion, with which we share a Car Park, which makes an ideal venue for a reception. And we are just a 10 minute brisk walk from the Wheel pub.
