Our friendly, inclusive carer & toddler group runs in our church hall on Tuesday afternoons from 2.30 to 4 pm. The entrance to the hall is in St Mary's Place, immediately to the east of the church.
We welcome people of all faiths and none and hope you'll feel comfortable with us whatever your beliefs.

The lead person is Kaye Inglis, who is also a churchwarden and our vulnerable adults befriender. She’s assisted by Fr Andrew, Shari-Ann, and Steve. We’re always happy to chat and answer questions.

To help cover the costs of snacks for the littlies and afternoon tea for the grown-ups, we ask that parents pay £1.50 for the first child, and £1 for a second. But this isn't obligatory. Please speak with one of our volunteers if this would prevent you from bringing a child to the Koalas.

We operate throughout the year, including school holidays, with just a short break over Christmas and Easter.

St Mary's, Kemp Town

Welcome to St Mary's, Kemp Town. We are an inclusive and welcoming church situated in a vibrant and diverse part of Brighton. We are part of the Church of England and the worldwide Anglican Communion. We come under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Chichester.

We welcome all who enter our doors - and also those who simply look in out of curiosity. We strive to be representative of the community in which we are situated - whether elderly or young, partnered or single, straight or gay.

We take the Bible's teachings seriously and seek to understand them in the light of our own lived experience. You may have a strong Christian faith or you may struggle with belief. Either way, rather than providing answers, we see ourselves as a friendly sounding board, enabling both ourselves and others to live in the light of the Gospel with the questions that life brings.

At St Mary’s, we seek to provide a safe and friendly environment for everyone. We take special care of children and of adults who need support to manage their lives. We follow the House of Bishops' guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Chichester Diocesan Safeguarding Team on 01273 421 021. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
