Wigston Benefice

The Wigston Benefice consists of three churches on the outskirts of Leicester, namely: St Thomas the Apostle, South Wigston, All Saints & St Wistan, Wigston Magna.

Each church has its own special ethos, but stand within a modern, 'inclusive catholic' tradition of the Church of England.

Most of our worship centres on the Eucharist (also called the Mass) and we use 'Common Worship'. Our congregations are faithful, open and welcoming, and we would be delighted to see you at any of our services or events.

Access to Church Buildings

Regrettably, it's not possible at present for us to leave our church buildings open all the time. The best way to see them is to join us for worship, however at other times:

All Saints is often open on a Thursday morning and a Saturday morning until about 12 noon. Keep an eye out for the ‘Church Open’ sign.

St Thomas' can be visited by arrangement.

As of 1st March 2024, St Wistan's has closed as a regular place of worship. The building initially closed in 2018 due to significant structural issues. Regular services continue to be held at All Saints, which has always been the parish church anyway. A subsequent period of consultation established that its use as a regular place of worship was not sustainable. The Leicester Diocesan Board of Finance will seek to find an alternative use for the building. For further information, do please contact us using the button in the sidebar.
