Godly Play begins with children’s innate sense of the presence of God. It offers Christian language as a support for ongoing spiritual formation. It teaches a process that aims to promote an inner working model for life-long Christian learning.
Fundamental to Godly Play is the opportunity for wondering, an understanding of sacred space, an appreciation of the value of silence, a small group size, and a particular expression of hospitality.
At St Michael’s, Godly Play is led by the Vicar, The Revd Gavin Knight.

Welcome to St Michael and All Angels in Summertown. We are the Anglican Parish Church for the Summertown, Cutteslowe and Waterways districts of north Oxford.

At a time when many people are asking questions about the meaning of life, we would warmly welcome you to join us for worship at St Michael’s; to find space for reflection and prayer, and together to consider the issues, personal and public, that face us today. We are an inclusive church in the liberal catholic tradition and welcome people of all ages from all walks of life. We strive to make our worship relevant, challenging and dignified, and to reflect God’s love for our world. Children are very much part of our church life and are welcome at all services.
