About Us
Welcome to St Michael and All Angels in Summertown. We are the Anglican Parish Church for the Summertown district of north Oxford. You are welcome to join us on a Sunday. There is a 8am Eucharist using traditional language, a 10am Eucharist using Common Worship and 6.30pm Taize or Silent Prayer Service. The service on the first Sunday of the month at 10am is an All-age service. We are receiving both the wine and bread at Holy Communion but are currently receiving by intinction (the priest dips the bread in the wine) rather than sharing the Common Cup; you can choose to only receive the bread if that feels safer. Gluten free wafers are available - please let a Welcomer know you that you need Gluten Free.
At a time when many people, in the wake of terrorism, war and natural disasters, are asking questions about the meaning of life, we would warmly welcome you to join us for worship at St Michael’s, to find space for reflection and prayer, and together to consider the issues, personal and public, that face us today. We are an inclusive church in the liberal catholic tradition and welcome people of all ages from all walks of life. We strive to make our worship relevant, challenging and dignified, and to reflect God’s love for our world. Children are very much part of our church life and are welcome at all services. Do join us one Sunday!
Located north of the university-dominated city centre, St Michael’s is situated in Lonsdale Road (off the Banbury Road, opposite the Radio Oxford building).
