All welcome to join us for a short mid week service at 9.15am each Wednesday. It provides a much-needed midweek 'recharging of the batteries'.

Wombridge Community Lunch will be held in the Parish Centre on the first Friday of each month. The next lunch is on Friday 4th September between 12.30pm and 2.00pm. Thanks to sponsorship by the Co-op the lunch of soup and a roll, fruit pie and custard and a drink will be provided free of charge. Everyone is welcome, no need to book, just pop in for food and a chat, maybe a game of cards and a quiz.

Autumn outing to Tong Church followed by Lunch

We are planning a guided tour of Tong Church followed by lunch. The tour of the Church lasts about an
hour and costs £10 per person. There is a lot to see and hear at this Grade 1 Listed building that John
Betjeman called 'The Westminster Abbey of the Midlands'; it has a Golden Chapel built in 1510 with its
rich colouring earning the name; the Stanley Monument in the Church features an inscription believed to
have been written by William Shakespeare; Charles Dickens visited the church in 1840 and chose it as
the final resting place and setting for Little Nell in the closing chapters of The Old Curiosity Shop; the
Great Bell of Tong weighs 2.5 tons and is the ninth-largest swinging church bell in England.

let Chris Griffiths know on 07930245773. Lifts are available and timings will be confirmed closer to the
trip but are expected to be arriving at Tong for 11am and lunch at 12.30pm
