A sign points us to something other than itself. That ‘other’ thing is more important than the sign. Today, as John Welsby looks at Mark 8:1-21, he reminds us Jesus’ miracles are signs (that is how they are described in John’s gospel). He helps us see what Jesus’ miracles point us towards, and the help this is to us in our present troubles.
