At St. Luke’s we tend to use the word 'baptism' but some churches use the word 'christening'. The meaning is the same. The moment when the child has water poured or wiped on their head is the actual baptism and is at the heart of the baptism service.
Infant baptism is a celebration of life and faith. It introduces your child to the church and demonstrates to your family and friends that you intend to raise him or her as a Christian. It is most of all an expression of God’s deep love and welcome.
On Sunday 25th February at 9.30am we are having a special service at St. Luke’s for people to relight their baptism candles as we renew our baptism vows. If you would like to know more about having yourself, however old you are, or your child baptised please do come along and join us.
