As the days slowly get longer, we can see through to the brighter days of Spring and the first flowers coming through once again as we leave Winter behind.  It's in human nature to be able to look ahead even when 'the worst is yet to come', which is usually the case with February in England.  In fact we live in one of the mildest climates in the world, where 2mm of snow is as much cause for panic as others elsewhere only face when upward of a metre of snow falls in a day!

That said, the Newsletter covers a range of emotions this week, with the funeral of one of Tittensor's oldest residents taking place at St Luke's on Thursday 3rd February at 11.30 a.m.  Danny Daniels was well-known to many people in the village and his family has long connections with St Luke's.  With covid restrictions now lifted but with many of us remaining cautious, this is an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the life of one of its own.

A far lighter opportunity comes along the following day, Friday 4th February, as St Luke's offers the first in a short series of 'Movie Nights', featuring 'U' certificate films able to be enjoyed by all the family.  Shown on the big screen in the church using its laser projector and sound system all provided by a legacy from Nancy Long, the first movie is 'Star Wars - A New Hope', the first of the movies that introduced us to Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Hans Solo, R2-D2 and many others.  Entry is free, with the movie starting at 7 p.m.  There is no refreshment kiosk so bring your own popcorn etc!

This is the first in a series of community events for 2022 and we are all hoping that each will bring the community closer together and help us all regrow as we come out from under the shadow of the pandemic.
