About Us
A friendly and welcoming community church, located partially inside St Paul's Primary School.
Everyone is welcome at St Paul’s, no matter your age, gender, race, marital situation, sexual orientation, social standing or ability to sing. We welcome lively toddlers and crying babies, those who are growing up too fast and those who refuse to do so, and those of every generation who find it hard to sit still and be quiet in church. We welcome those who have been a Christian for a long time and those who haven’t been to church for many years. We recognise that no one has all the answers and that we are all people struggling with our own questions and doubts. Come as you are – no need for ‘Sunday best’ - we look forward to welcoming you.
We strive to be a dementia friendly church and our buildings offer good access for wheel-chair users. A hearing loop is active during services in the hall and at all times in the chapel.
At our services you will find a friendly, relaxed and informal atmosphere. Sunday morning services are at 10:30am and follow contemporary Common Worship patterns with variety from week to week. Music is a mix of newer and older. A wide variety of people take part in services including leading and preaching alongside the clergy, and we welcome and encourage people to 'have a go'. There are groups for Primary School aged children most weeks and for Secondary School aged young people once a month. On the second Sunday of the month the service is all-ages together.
There are also occasional services of different styles including Iona, HOPS ('Hour Of Praise Songs'), Taizé etc. Seasonal and other services are as advertised.
Once a month the service is followed by Sunday Lunch for those who would otherwise be alone on a Sunday - see the posters in the church foyer for dates.
Groups and events for children and young people, including Messy Church and 'Encounter' - our 2 year youth group, the first year of which is often preparation for Confirmation - happen together with the churches in our Parish of Tettenhall Regis.
St Paul's Chapel is open during the day as a place for quiet and prayer - enjoy the peace, add a prayer to the 'Prayer Tree' or remember a loved one named in the Memorial Book. The Chapel is accessible via the Oasis Café or the church doors and is open whenever the café is open. The vicar's office is inside the Oasis Café and anyone is welcome to drop by to chat, pray or enquire about weddings, Christenings or funerals.
