Begin the countdown to Christmas at our December All Age Service with Fun, Fellowship, Songs, Games and a time to spend with God

St George’s Church invites you to our All-Age Toy Service on  1st December  2024 at 10am where we’ll be joined by Major Susan Stubbings from the Salvation Army who supports a women’s refuge in Birmingham.

We’d like to make Christmas special for the children who are currently in this refuge who may have little or nothing under the tree, so we’ll be taking an offering of toys leading up to and during this service.

WE CAN ONLY DISTRIBUTE NEW GIFTS IN ORIGINAL PACKAGING AND UNWRAPPED

The refuge has 58 boys and girls between the ages of from the age of 1 to 11+

We’re looking for

-A main toy (Lego, car, dolls, playmobile, playdoh, role-play-toy etc)

-An age-appropriate colouring book

A book or soft toy for younger children or toiletries for older children

Everyone is invited to join us for this celebration and if you can bring anything to support these children that would be wonderful.  Alternatively, we’re happy to take any monetary donations, at any service on or  before 24th November and we can purchase gifts on your behalf.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Glascote and Stonydelph is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Lichfield’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Karen Gopsill (via the office 01827 62612) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Neil Spiring (01543 306030). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
