St Bertelin's is now part of the national "Places of Welcome" network, which offers people somewhere to go for conversation and a cup of tea every week. We shall be here Thursday morning between 10 and 12, offering a warm welcome, free refreshments and a chance to meet others.
Enthusiastic walkers from St Bertelin's are planning to step out around Tittesworth Water, near Leek, on 28th March, along with people from around the region who are walking to raise money for Christian Aid.It is the 30th year of this popular fund-raising event, and every penny raised will go directly to Christian Aid to be used in helping the world's poorest people. The walk will set off from the Visitor Centre at 10.30am, blessed on their way boy the Bishop of Lichfield and the Lord Mayor of Stoke on Trent. Walkers can opt for a shorter distance of 2 miles, or a longer distance of 5 miles around the reservoir. Many people will be wearing Easter Bonnets as they walk. You can support us in various ways - sponsor us, or come and cheer us on (there is an excellent Visitor Centre at Tittesworth!), or make a donation to Christian Aid.
There has been a "red box" in the foyer at St Bertelin's church, in the north-end of Stafford, since summer 2019. People who hire the halls and worshippers have been putting feminine hygiene products into the box, for distribution via the "Red Box Project" to women and girls across Stafford who need a bit of support. Two boxfuls have been given to women and girls via the Red Box Project during this time and have been distributed via schools. The Project in Stafford has now come to an end, and the final boxful is going to Staffordshire Womens Aid for distribution to women and girls.Thank you to everyone who has supported women and girls in this way!
