In what is now an annual event, people from St Bertelin's Stafford joined many others on the North Staffs Christian Aid Walk at Tittesworth Reservoir today.
On a day which was described as a "perfect day for a walk", Steve, Jackie, Bridget and Revd Elaine helped organisers to raise over £1 million for Christian Aid since the walk began 29 years ago.
Steve set off at a cracking pace, and ran around the perimeter of Tittesworth Reservoir, fulfilling a goal he had set himself a few years ago. Bridget did the same, but at walking pace. Revd Elaine nordic-walked (with poles) the shorter course of between 1.5 and 2 miles (depending if you believe the course organiser's estimate, or Severn Trent Water's estimate...) and Jackie walked the shorter course but at a slower pace...although Jackie is very fit, a very close encounter with a delivery van last week has left her very bruised and sore, so a leisurely walk was just what the doctor ordered.
Jackie's mom Margaret was waiting in the tea room at the Visitor Centre to cheer us back!
Go Team St Bertelin's!
