The PCC at St Bertelin's has decided to resume supporting an external charity by fundraising on an annual basis, beginning from 3rd December. This was something that happened up to 2020, and church members supported charities like Katharine House, Crisis and Toilet Twinning on a three year cycle. Obviously all that stopped during the crisis period of Coronavirus, but the PCC has decided to recommend that this practice should continue. Church members will be invited to make a small donation to Blood Cancer as they use the "sorting ladder" to send Christmas cards to their friends in church. The proceeds from the Lent Lunches will also be earmarked for Blood Cancer. And church members may, if they wish, make smaller donations (of loose change, perhaps?) throughout the year to the end of November 2024. A different charity will be recommended for such support in 2025.Several people at St Bertelin's are affected in some way by blood cancer, either as a person living with the disease or a family member of someone with it.
A lovely Harvest Service was held today at St Bertelin's with a lot of goods donated, which will all go to the House of Bread in Stafford for use within the Community.Thank you all very much
