A Plea for Information

Mr Robert Selby wishes to track down anyone related to those named on Sandon War Memorial.

They are:   James Askey, Charles William Barnes, George Warwick Bentley, Howard Lidyard, Richard Henry Cheadle, Edward Cheadle, William Cheadle, William Henry Clayton, S Dainty, Frederick Davenport, T Davenport, Joseph G Haywood, William Charles Hedges, J Hodson, John Milton James, Frank Kilbourne, John Kirk, Charles James Leweden, Major RND Ryder, Frank Snape, Edward Henry Tavernor, Joseph Henry Ward, and John T Ward.

He has raised money from the sale of his book, “We Will Remember Them” containing his research on these 23 servicemen whom we remember every year.

The money is for the planting of 23 saplings on the Sandon Estate in memory of their sacrifice.

It would be wonderful to be able to invite any relatives to the planting ceremony.
