As we write this article it is nearly Valentine’s Day and Easter, a traditional time for weddings, will soon be upon us so love is in the air.

Would you like a church wedding? We have eight beautiful churches for you to choose from, each in one of our lovely villages. Have a look through this magazine for details of the parishes. Each church has its own character but whichever you choose, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and every assistance you need to make your big day run smoothly.

There are also some excellent venues for your wedding reception in the area.

We have a central system for all wedding administration making it easy to check availability and to complete your application form, including guidance on all the legal requirements.

Each of our churches has a person who leads on weddings and will be your main contact for all practical matters. They can arrange to show you round initially and then if you book that church, they will guide you through the months of planning, offering advice on everything you need to know about a wedding in that particular church.

Our own clergy team, along with local retired clergy, will be a great support to you in the run up to your wedding. The appointed clergy member will meet with you well in advance to go through all the arrangements and will arrange a rehearsal for you before the big day. On the day itself they will conduct a beautiful ceremony for you and your guests.

To make an initial inquiry please contact Elizabeth Jarrett, our Wedding Administrator on 07534 - 915068, email [email protected] or click on "Get in touch" on this page.

St. Rufin's Church, Burston, Staffordshire.

St. Rufin's is a small chapel erected in 1859. The church lies on the path of the Two Saints' Way between Lichfield and Chester, which is marked by an attractive board opposite the entrance to the chapel by the Village Pool.
There is a small parking area adjacent to the chapel.

Ours is a Mission Church in the Parish of Sandon with Burston. As such it shares the same ethos, PCC and Churchwardens as All Saints' Church, Sandon. There is a Burston Committee of the PCC which oversees the running of the Church, whilst local villagers look after the building and support its services.

Safeguarding

Our parish of St. Rufin, Burston (associated with All Saints Church, Sandon) is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Lichfield’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
