In the UK some people begin taking Christmas Decorations down well before the end of the Twelve Days of Christmas (January 6th) - but in many parts of the world the festival is celebrated for more than a month and lasts until February 2nd. So, if you still have some lights left in the garden or decorations around the house, you are in good company!
The season celebrating the arrival of Jesus formally concludes with the festival of Candlemas.
The readings in churches on this Sunday remember the “Presentation in the Temple” (Luke 2:22-40) the time when Jesus was taken as a baby to the Temple in Jerusalem. In many parts of the church this Sunday is a time when candles are taken to church to be blessed.
When lit, these candles are a symbol of Jesus - the Light of the World.

St. Rufin's Church, Burston, Staffordshire.

St. Rufin's is a small chapel erected in 1859. The church lies on the path of the Two Saints' Way between Lichfield and Chester, which is marked by an attractive board opposite the entrance to the chapel by the Village Pool.
There is a small parking area adjacent to the chapel.

Ours is a Mission Church in the Parish of Sandon with Burston. As such it shares the same ethos, PCC and Churchwardens as All Saints' Church, Sandon. There is a Burston Committee of the PCC which oversees the running of the Church, whilst local villagers look after the building and support its services.
