Every organisation needs money these days. We have a very supportive congregation and received donations from local residents, who see the church as the centre of the village.
Our church meets regularly and on occasions is open during the week. We have building work that needs undertaking to maintain the church in all its glory. The issue with rain getting into the chancel area of St James church, Salt means that the altar is covered in polythene when there is not a service. Not very inviting for visitors to see, so we tend to not open it in the week regularly.
St Peter’s, Hopton we had a new roof on a few years ago, it have no other facilities there. Not even running water.
There is a belief that the Church of England has plenty of money and that is true to some extent. However repairs and maintenance to our local churches is down to the congregation and local villagers.
The work of churches is reliant on people’s generosity, a generosity that is a hallmark of a lived-out faith and a testament to it. If you feel you can help us financially through the coming months please click here.
