This service marks the end of the emptiness of Holy Saturday and leads us to the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. The Easter Candle is lit from a fire and processed into church celebrating Christ’s light in the world. We hear the record of God’s saving deeds in history in a series of reading from the Bible. As Easter was traditionally a time for baptism, we renew our own baptismal vows and then celebrate the eucharist as a climax of our celebration that Christ is risen indeed.

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [Hannah Yapp 01952 416370] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [Neil Spiring 01543 306147]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
