Welcome to the parish of St Thomas , Mow Cop. We are a small, but growing congregation who pride ourselves on giving a warm welcome to all, whether a regular worshipper, a member of the local community or a visitors form afar-you are welcome!
Our services are built on the framework of liturgy found in Common Worship, but are relaxed and easy to follow. We enjoy a variety of worship styles, balancing traditional hymns with contemporary songs, Bible readings, and intercessory prayers with interactive services.
We provide service booklets but all Instruction, hymns and readings are displayed on a big screen for easy reading. Reading aids are available for those living with sight loss to use during our services. We also have a loop system for the hard of hearing/partial hearing and are a dementia friendly church. At present we have no toilet in the church building, however there are two toilets open in the hall next door (one disabled). We have a portable ramp to help those in wheelchairs in and out of the church, a space in the church for wheelchairs and buggies and can offer a wheelchair for the duration of the service, should it be required.
Our regular activities include house-group, Bible study, a monthly prayer group and 'Good Companions' Coffee mornings.
We do not have a formal Sunday School at the moment but children are welcome to use our children's area within the church under parental supervision. There are a number of books/activities for them to use. We also host our all age family worship 'Connect @ 4' on the last Sunday of every month from 4pm - please see our 'services and events' tab for more details.
