About Us
Please note that our church is open daily for private prayer and normal services have resumed each month (see the "Services and Events" page for details). When you visit please ensure that you take note of the instructions in the entrance, use the hand sanitizer and, for services, follow the instructions of the church officials.
St Mary the Virgin is one of four churches in the Benefice (see below), served by a single Priest-in-charge; consequently, only one service is held in each church each week, with a rotating combined Benefice service whenever there is a 5th Sunday in the month. A family service is usually held on the first Sunday of each month, we use the Book of Common Prayer for 8.30 am Holy Communion on the second Sunday, Common Worship for the 9.30 Holy Communion on the third Sunday, and there is an evening service on the fourth Sunday. There is a small but faithful congregation, an active PCC and a fund raising committee which produces regular concerts and other events as well as organises Open Gardens every other year.
There is a little book on the table just inside the church to record the names of people we have been asked to pray for, and you are very welcome to add other names if you wish.
Please see the services and events page for full details and for any changes to regular services.
Do come and visit our beautiful little church, which is open every day during the summer months but don't forget to sign our visitor's book as this gives us much needed statistics whenever we need to apply for grants!
The other churches in our Benefice are:
All Saints, Clive
All Saints, Grinshill
St Mary Magdalene, Hadnall
