About Us
St Paul’s is the Parish Church of Coven, a village of about four and a half thousand people in south Staffordshire. It is part of the Diocese of Lichfield and under the sacramental and pastoral care of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet.
We are a welcoming, lively, faithful and committed group of people – young and old – who come together for worship on Sundays and other days during the week. Throughout the week there are opportunities for prayer, worship and study in small groups. St Paul’s is a ‘Society parish’ which affirms the Five Guiding Principles.
The main parish Sung Eucharist, takes place at 10 am each Sunday. Low Mass is held every Wednesday at 10.30 a.m.
St Paul’s is also very committed to supporting the work of our First School – St Paul’s CE [C] First School and there are opportunities for members of the congregation to serve as Foundation Governors and also to join in school based worship. The Parish Priest is a Governor of the school and the school regularly come into church for their special services. Children, staff and parents regularly visit the church for worship throughout the year, including Harvest, Christmas and Easter. A special service is held for children in Year 4 as they prepare to leave the school.
St Paul’s has an active and vibrant ‘social life’ when friends from the village and further afield, come together simply to enjoy being with one another. These occasions usually involve food and wine and much laughter! Together we are active in raising funds for the on-going life of the Church in the community. We have one of the most active Mothers' Unions in the West Midlands.
We love our church. We also love to welcome visitors. Please join us for prayer and worship; we would like you to come along to one of our social events, or if you think you would like to get married or have your child Baptised in our church, then please contact us. You will be made very, very welcome.
The Churchwardens will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
