Women of the Nativity: Reflecting on the Meaning of Christmas

The seasons of Advent and Christmas offers us an opportunity not only for lavish

celebrations with mince pies and mulled wine (of which there will be plenty!), but to

remind ourselves of the Good News at the heart of our faith: the Good News of God coming among us as a vulnerable child in the manger.

Revd Henry will be running an eight-week Reflection Group, offering a space to step back from the Christmas rush and reflect together on the significance of the events at Bethlehem. We'll be using Paula Gooder's short booklet The Women of the Nativity to look afresh at the great mystery of Christmas from the perspective of some of the

people involved in its events, both familiar and unfamiliar.

The course will take place at the Vicarage (Hollow Lane, Cheddleton,ST13 7HP) on Wednesday afternoons, 3pm, with four sessions before Christmas, and four sessions

in the New Year: 27 November; 4, 11, 18 December; 8, 15, 22, 29 January. Revd Henry will order booklets for participants. These cost c. £12, but please don't be put off by the cost; there are free copies available for those otherwise unable to attend.

Please use the sign up sheet at the back of church to register your interest, or speak to Henry after one of our services.
