Getting here
St James' is open every day, 8.30 am - 5.30 pm. Local boy made good, John Taylor, had the church built between 1517 and 1522 and his coat of arms and civil and ecclesiastical honours are to be found inscribed on the walls of the nave.
We have services every Sunday
8.00 am - A quiet and reflective Said Communion Service lasting half an hour.
10.30 am - A Sung Communion Service which includes hymns and a sermon, lasting an hour.
On the 1st Sunday of the month we have 'Worship Together Communion' which is more informal and when we welcome baptism families.
We have a Children's Corner and children are always welcome!
When there is a 5th Sunday in the month we have ONE service at 10.00 am for the three churches in the Benefice. The next one will be at St James' on 30th July.
Pick up a copy of our colour parish magazine, 'The Barton Chime', any time during the day at St James' or St Mary's or from St Michael & All Angels, Tatenhill on a Wednesday mornings between 9.00 am and 11.00 am.
