Residents or Visitors
We welcome you to our much loved and cared for church.
There is a booklet on sale in Church that tells about the History of our Church, but this account is intended to be about the Present.
Service times are displayed in the Church porch and in our Village Newsletter. If you would like a copy on a regular basis, please contact one of the PCC members.
Our Church has become part of a reorganised Benefice-
‘The Benefice of Butterton, Ipstones with Berkamsytch and Onecote with Bradnop’.
Fundraising and Projects
In the place of a very ‘tired looking’ vestry we now have a new kitchen, toilet facilities and first floor Meeting Room. These facilities are available during church services and other events.
The 3 bells were removed to Taylors, Loughborough in 2012 for restoration.
We were extremely fortunate in being awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund which has enabled us to complete our project and in January, 2018 we welcomed the return of our 3 bells plus 3 additional bells, one of which is to be our ‘Thankful Bell’, kindly donated by the Keltek Trust. After the ‘Hallowing of the Bells’ we again welcomed Bishop Geoff for a ‘Dedication Service’.
Fund raising opportunities include a monthly Lottery Ball Draw, Gift day, Harvest Pie and Pea Supper and Auction, Afternoon Tea, Raffles, Bingo, Stalls at Car Boot sales etc.
Apart from the Sunday services throughout the year, we have services that we hope will encourage visitors and residents to attend. Included is a service of Songs of Praise, our Wakes Service held on St Bartholomew’s Feast day which is August Bank Holiday weekend, Harvest celebrations, Carol singing and at Christmas either a Carol Service when every other year the Warslow Silver Band come and play for us.
Butterton History Group use the Church as a venue for their Open Day events.

We hope you enjoy your visit to St Bartholomew’s and if you don’t, we want to hear about it! Contact one of the Churchwardens if this is the case.
We are always aware of the need to improve our facilities and would welcome any suggestions. (Updated June, 2018)
