Sunday 6th April 2025
This Sunday marks the beginning of Passiontide—the final stretch of Lent when the shadow of the cross begins to lengthen. It’s the time when the Gospel grows quiet and intense, like the hush before a storm.
We will ponder one of the most tender—and most extravagant—moments in Scripture: Mary anointing Jesus’ feet with perfume (John 12:1–8). It’s a story steeped in love, misunderstanding and holy wastefulness. Judas grumbles, but Jesus receives it as a gift preparing him for burial. Mary sees what others miss and acts with fearless devotion.
There’s something poignant about beauty offered in the face of suffering. As Passiontide begins, we’re invited to follow Mary’s lead—to worship not just with words, but with costly love.
We’d love to see you this Sunday, and if there’s someone in your heart who might find comfort or meaning in this season, bring them along. Lent is a path best walked together.
With every blessing, Mark
