Sunday 12th January 2025
As we enter the first Sunday of Epiphany, we are invited to reflect on the revelation of Christ to the world. The word Epiphany means manifestation or appearance, and during this season, we celebrate the light of Christ breaking into the world – a light that reaches far beyond Bethlehem, to the ends of the earth and into our hearts today.
Our focus this Sunday is on the Baptism of Christ, a moment when Jesus’ identity was revealed as God’s beloved Son. This powerful scene reminds us that through our own baptism, we, too, are named and claimed as beloved children of God. What an encouraging truth to carry into this new year!
As we move through this season, may we, like the Magi, seek Christ in unexpected places. May we, like John the Baptist, point others toward Jesus. And may we, as a church, shine His light into the world with renewed hope and joy.
I pray that this Epiphany season brings renewed purpose, peace and blessings to you and your loved ones.
