Sunday 10th November 2024
This Sunday, we will be gathering with members and representatives from the local community to remember all those who have laid down their lives, so that we might live in peace and concord with one another. This year, we will be taking a closer look at the soldiers who found relief, hope and peace in the midst of conflict, by tending and cultivating trench gardens. The Bible often speaks of gardens–the beauty and fragility of life–and sadly humanity’s tendency to reign death and destruction. Thankfully that’s not the end of the story. In John’s Gospel, the tomb gives way to a restored garden and the promise of new life in Christ. Join us this Sunday where we explore the ways in which we too, can be bringers of hope, and honour the sacrifices made by those who refused to let darkness have the final word.
Every blessing, Mark
