Sunday 18th August 2024

The Olympics have drawn to an end for another 4 years and TEAM GB have done our nation proud, collecting 65 medals in total. As well as showcasing some of the world’s best athletes, the Games also provided some incredible stories. One of the most moving came from gold medal winner Lola Anderson, whose late father had given her a letter she had written as a teenager, saying her dream in life would be to go to the Olympics and row for Britain. Stories shape us and can form us profoundly. This week we will be exploring the stories contained in Psalm 111 and asking what stories shape us at St. John’s. The Psalm begins by giving thanks in the company of the congregation, so do join us this Sunday as we look to embark on a new journey and a new story together.

Every blessing,

Mark
