St. John's, Donisthorpe

The Parish of St. John’s includes the communities of Donisthorpe, much of Moira,  Oakthorpe, Stretton en le Field and Acresford. It is  part of the Woodfield team of 8 churches in North West Leicestershire.

We are a welcoming congregation,  holding services each Sunday at 10 am.

Our building has just been refurbished,  reopening on 31st August 2024. It has become a building for use by the whole community, called Village Heart at St. John's, bookable on Hallbookingonline.com/villageheart/.

Our aim is to bring the whole community to the church and the church to the whole community.

Safeguarding

Our parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Leicester's safeguarding pages contain vital links and contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or is at risk, please contact the PSO, using the details on our website: stjohnschurchdonisthorpe.org.uk/safeguarding or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor 0116 261 5341, [email protected].
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, contact the police or your local authority social services department.
