G O O D N E W S & Upcoming Events
We are grateful to Barbara Guntrip for leading our Act of Remembrance on 10th November and to all those who attended. A total of £100 was collected for the Royal British Legion.
On Thursday 19th December we are meeting at the church at 6.00pm for the annual carol singing tour around the village taking in a lot of the Advent windows. This is always a great event and finishes at the village hall for refreshments (including mulled wine and mince pies), when the raffle winners will also be drawn.
The community coffee mornings - on the last Thursday in the month - continue to be well supported. There is no meeting during December but we look forward to welcoming visitors old and new on Thursday 30th January 2025 anytime between 10 am and 12 noon.
Don't forget to stay up to date with events via our new Facebook page.
We have a selection of religious books in our lending library in the Lady Chapel. Please feel free to browse or borrow a book or two. Also in the Lady Chapel is a collection of relics and artefacts found around the village and from the Manor House dig. Do take a look, and for younger visitors, why not try out the Children's Church Trail at the same time to learn more about our beautiful church. At the back of the church there is also a good selection of books and jigsaws for you to borrow, or buy for a small donation.
We are also most grateful to everyone on the cleaning and flower rotas - the church looks and smells beautiful.
The Community Coffee Mornings are held on the last Thursday in the month (10.00am to midday). All are welcome including pre-school children, visiting friends and well behaved four legged friends. The mornings are great for just a natter and to meet up with both new and familiar faces. Please feel free to make use of the organ or piano during the morning, both of which would benefit from a work out.
