Occurring
for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue Address
Mill Green, Station Road Wargrave Reading, RG10 8EU, United Kingdom
For those wishing to get a bit of fresh air and exercise (possibly also a little wet), please join us at the junction of Highfield Park & Victoria Road at 10am for the Walk of Witness. We do this to remember that Jesus had to carry his cross publicly through the streets of Jerusalem.
There will be opportunities to sing some hymns, listen to poems and readings and finish with a warm hot cross bun and tea & coffee back at St Mary's Church Centre.

Wargrave St Mary's

St Mary's is located in the heart of the large village of Wargrave and is beautifully situated beside Mill Green. It is the oldest (parts dating back to the 12th Century) and biggest of the three Churches in the Parish.

Our vision at St Mary’s is to be a church at the heart of our community, and our hope is that every Christian will be empowered at St Mary’s to flourish in ministry for the good of the whole community.

There are two services each Sunday: 8am and 9.45am, as well as Junior Church (0-3 years Crèche, 3-16 years Junior Church)

Close by, The Hannen Room and St Mary's Church Centre are within the churchyard for use throughout the year.

Safeguarding

Our Parish of Wargrave with Knowl Hill is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Sue Witney (details found at the link below) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Charlotte Wilmshurst: 07443 700159. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
