Christmas Services and Events at St Helen's

Saturday 21 December 2024 - 10h30 - Walking Nativity starting at The Chequers

Come and follow Basil (our resident pony/donkey) on a short walk from The Chequers (where there is no room at the Inn) to St Helen's Church - where there will be a telling of the Christmas Story, a dressing-up box of nativity costumes, and carols round the Crib and Christmas tree  - plus Christmas Refreshments!

Sunday 22 December 2024 - Fourth Sunday in Advent - Service of Holy Communion - 11h00

On this Fourth Sunday in Advent there will be a Service of Holy Communion starting at 11am and lasting approximately an hour. All are welcome!

Christmas Eve - Tuesday 24 December 2024 - 18h30 - Carol Service and Crib Blessing

You are very welcome to join us for our traditional candle-lit Carol Service on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day - Wednesday 25 December 2024 - 11h00 - Family Communion

On Christmas Day there will be a family-friendly service of Holy Communion - all welcome!

To everyone who helped at the Christmas Fair...

Thank you so much for doing all you did at the Christmas Fair earlier in the month, and for all the hard work that you contributed to the event beforehand.

It was a truly awesome whole-village effort. Whether you were cooking, mulling, brewing, baking, selling, shifting furniture, cleaning the Hall afterwards, decorating, running competitions / creative activities, singing, raffling, or any other of the varied activities that went into making this event so successful, the PCC thanks you wholeheartedly: the money you helped to raise makes a valuable contribution to the annual costs of running and maintaining our unique and historic village church so that it will be here for future generations.

SO FINALLY – here’s the financial outcome: an amazing £2,562.77.
