Next week is the fourth Sunday of the month - that means we're getting creative and getting out and about! The purpose of these Sundays is deliberately to provide a space for us as a church to invite friends, family and/or neighbours to come and be part of what we do. To extend the welcome beyond just our own little gang.

This month's Creative Sunday sees the return of the St. Joe's Scavenger Hunt! Meet at 10.30am at 71 Skye Crescent, and we'll send you off in groups to complete tasks hidden around the two lakes. It promises to be fun, interactive and should last just under an hour. Then it's back to the vicarage for drinks, snacks and a chance to share what you've been up to with the other groups! All ages welcome and encouraged to join in.

Hello, and welcome to St Joe's!  So, who are we…?

Informally: we are a “Church for those who don't ‘do church’. An extended family of sorts - in & out of each others homes.”

Formally: St Joseph’s (Church of England) church was formed in April 2017 to serve the new-build housing area known as Newton Leys, to the south of Bletchley and Milton Keynes. The church was started with the help and support of St Mary’s Parish Church in Bletchley. St Joe’s is officially recognised by the Anglican Oxford Diocese but continues, at the moment, to ‘come under’ the organisational and charitable status of St Mary’s Church.

How would we describe ourselves? A local, community church? Yes!  A new expression of church? Yes! A church for those who don't usually do church, or who have become a bit disillusioned with church? Yes!

We focus on a ‘missional model’, to informally but strategically share Jesus, life and community with each other - and anyone who wants to take this faith-journey with us. We meet two or three times during the month at the local primary school for Sunday morning services, and on other Sundays, and at other times, we organise a range of activities and events that fulfil and enhance our mission and calling.
