We are an inclusive, liberal, Anglo Catholic Church and welcome everyone to our beautiful building, whether you join us for a Service, attend a Concent or Event, or just want to take a moment away from the bustle of city life.
We are currently in interregnum and so the running of our church is in the care of our Churchwardens and our Self Supporting Associate Minister, Rev (Mother) Lynne Grey. We are appreciative to all the retired clergy who support Mother Lynne and ensure that our spiritual and liturgical needs are met.
We are fortunate to have two services a week. Our principal Service being our Sunday Solemn Mass at 11am and we also have a weekly Midweek Mass at 10:30am on a Wednesday morning, either in the Lady Chapel or in the Hook Room in the Undercroft during the winter.
We are blessed to be custodians of the 'Hook Memorial Church', and continue to worship in the Anglo Catholic tradition, for which are Church was designed by George Gilbert Scott (his last design before his death) and built through generous donation from rich and poor as a memorial to Dr Walter Hook. Dr Hook had been Vicar of Leeds and was responsible for taking Anglo Catholic Churches to (what were at the time) the outer districts of Leeds and to its working class people, many of whom were living in extreme poverty.
Our beautiful Church had no expense spared on it, from its carvings, glass in its windows and fine Abbott & Smith Organ (showcase instrument as their workshop was further down Blackman Lane), and enhances and embraces our liturgy.
