Ivan Leung graduated from the Bachelor programme (BMus, Organ Performance) of University of British Columbia in 2019. He received his Master of Music (MMus, Organ Performance) from Royal College of Music, London, in 2022, and is currently pursuing Artist Diploma (ArtDip), studying organ with David Graham, and improvisation with Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin.
He was appointed organ scholar of Farm Street Church, London in 2019, and also as organist at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Hong Kong. Aside, he is the principal organist of Vox Antiqua, a church choir formed in 2017 dedicated to performing traditional liturgical music. He is a recipient for multiple prestigious scholarships, including the Pettmann Organ Scholarship (London Oratory, 2023), as well as the Mary & Bryn Walters Organ Scholarship (St Martin-in-the-Fields, 2023).
As a performer, Ivan has played widely across Canada, Germany, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. Ivan shares his passion in organ through composing, for instance his Cantonese setting of Psalm 34 and Nunc Dimittis serve as a contribution to the local liturgical repertoire. He also shares great passion in organ-building, which he was awarded the Flentrop Scholarship in 2022 for a study trip of historical organs with the distinguished organ builder Flentrop, in the Netherlands.
